update...weights coming off!!

Postby blackforestmama » Fri Jun 11, 2010 7:00 am

yahoo!! Finally...today I stepped on the scale 2 weeks since I started low carbing! Wow.... it came down 2 pds. I couldnt believe it and stepped on the scale many time to actually make sure!

First week nothing...but wow this week finally! Yay!!!

I think biking 48 km this week in the plus 30 heat helped as well hee...

I am so elated...first the numbers soooo good for 2 weeks... and using way little insulin...and now finally the weight result!

I still have 28 pds to go to get to my goal! 3 to 4 months if it keeps up at this pace!

Steph

That is wonderous news - well done you.

I now have weather envy - we have had SOOOO much rain this week it's been miserable. Lots of soakings on by bike commute to and from work. We may get to the beach on Sunday though if the forecasters are right (fingers crossed).

6 weeks into low carbing and now I am 10pds lighter! (back to where I was last summer! Finally can fit into my summer clothes! Yahoo!!). I couldnt believe it today! What?! Really!!!

Its amazing no matter how much I increased my exercise in March to May (3 months of intense exercise) and just 6 weeks of low carbing and medium exercise wow it sure makes a huge difference!

Of course...helps that my blood sugar is so much more stabilized and taking way less insulin per day (about 20 per day as opposed to 50 a day!).

Thanks everyone for all your support! Of all my years of trying various diets and such nothing ever worked this fast! so amazing! And to know that this time I am not starving myself too! Eating full meals with all the vitamins and proteins!

Am also learning to be a more creative and better cook too. (love the recipes section...my family is happy with the new menus too).

Congratulations Steph, no wonder you feel good.

Low carbing works for me too and I wish I had known about this way of eating years ago. I eat lovely. tasty, satisfying meals and the weight keeps going downwards. Wonderful!

Apart from the obvious feeling of well being and pleasure at being able to fit in smaller clothes again I have no doubt at all that LC is very beneficial healthwise.

Hi Lynn

still working on the leg issues... I think gets worse around the menses time and when I drive as the seats goes upwards and puts pressures when I use my leg on the gas. Will still look for the seats to use on computer chair and in car.

darn no weight change this week. :) (it was a super hot week plus 35! and hard to be active. Did have good blood sugar levels and had company (made a few low carb meals for my companies they loved it!). I did walk in the midday for over an hour as my bike was in repair and pulled a ligament (wore an older shoe oops...so took it easy over the week as a result. Still walked my dog in the early morning and late eve but more a stroll nothing fast paced). I was also doing tons of housechores due to company coming more than usual. (thought all that would contribute darn million of stairs in my home, vacuuming, mopping, carpet cleaning etc).

Perhaps overdid it on the protein?

any suggestions? just keep doing what I am doing or? I lost 10pds in 6 weeks perhaps its leveling off now? wouldnt mind 1 pd a week. i am at 7 weeks now.

Take heart, it is working. Well done you. You have shown yourself that gettin the blood glucose levels down is the begining of weight loss and I too found that I didn't need to do more exercise to lose the weight. It was all in cuttingthe carbs.

It has taken nearly a year for me to lose 9lb but I am definitely thinner over all of my body.

My wrists and ankles are skinny, now I'm just waiting for the spare tyre to deflate!

This low carb lark has definitely removed a lot of fat from my frame.

I lost 18 kg fairly quickly, but since then for about a year, I've been holding with only minimal weight loss.. I did read somewhere that this teends to happen with a 10% to 20% weight loss. Mine is nearer 20 than 10. Still haven't given up though.

new update from my weekly weight in and measurement. I lost 4 to 5pds (1.2kg) this past week. Yike. (I think its a bit too much). (then again I had a bit of tummy bug earlier in the week so not sure if that contributed to it?)

I am happy as last week I didnt budge on the scale at all. Just at same time apprehensive if its too fast?

I did up my fat intake and decreased my protein intake by a tad bit. So perhaps that did it?

Or I am now at my 2 months mark...yay 8 weeks!! (time sure flies fast!). I am perhaps in fat burning mode now?? I also measured myself and lost 1cm around the hip too! Yay! (down from 3 cm a month ago). (so the spare tire is finally deflating). Am able to wear my summer clothes from last year comfortably now.

Total 15pds lost and 15 more to go to my goal.

One question though... if anyone notices any difference when body is in fat burning mode? I am not sure if still related to my tummy bug I had earlier in the week or if its fat burning... as in the mid morning and between meals I tend to get these hunger pangs or growling (or butterflies in the tummy). I try to snack on nuts at those time to tie me over to the meal times. (If I dont eat on my usual time, like on weekend tends to be bit later than the week days etc).

My nbrs has been peaking a bit last few days so trying to work on that as I still cant figure out what it is. If its due to the insulin or what (hasnt been hot lately so cant be the insulin, changed frequently as well). Its hovering around 130 to 180 (with some 200). :( Only thing new I had a glass of champagne Friday at a wedding reception.

Full moon coming up on Sunday...related? hee.

So thats my lil update. Thanks all for your continuous support.
