Rowing machine

Postby Marmot » Sun Jan 17, 2010 1:01 pm

Just got back from gym. Don't do 2 hr sessions like my exercise mad husband  but I do enjoy weights and I LOVE the rowing machine, all followed by a few lengths in the pool. Wish it wasn't 5 miles away, if I had my husbamd's bike confidence I suppose I could cycle there, really wish I was good on a bike (apart from a static one!). I am all right in straight lines, no traffic or obstacles, so I suppose me riding along a rural dual carriageway for three miles before hitting the country lanes is about as likely as a flying pig. Still a girl can dream. Also had an interesting experience this am. BS 6.2 on rising - 1 and a half hours later before setting out it was 5.3 - I can hope that this was real and not my meter being evil and tormenting me with false hopes of better morning responses.  Watch this space...............! Or could it be the ALA and evening primrose are kicking in??

I too am scared of cycling on roads. I haven't ridden a bike since my stroke and I gave my 3 wheeler away. I have a cycle path pretty much all the way from home to the gym and I'm working up to borrowing my daughter's bike. She's pregnant at the moment and won't want the bike now or after number 2 is born.
I need a try out in the park. As soon as the weather improves.

The rowing machine was my favourite piece of gym equipment too, so I bought one. It is in the conservatory so I can watch the birds as I row.

What a fab idea! It would equally confuse our cats as I whizzed up and down past the window.
