Hi Lynn
Yes I take cayenne pepper almost daily, its part of my special 'power shake' (a ghastly concoction that would make most people just heave

) - I dont think that cayenne pepper is for everyone, some people get burning in their stomach and then worry about developing ulcers. Then again it probably depends on how much of it you take, if I were you I would just use it in cooking when making chillies or whatever and see how this affects you and kind of build up slowly before you take a full recommended dose, whatever that is.
I have the book where a heart attack victim writes about cayenne pepper saving his life, its called 'They left me for dead', if you want to read it I will gladly send it to you (email me your address).
Why was you thinking of taking cayenne? For high blood pressure, I think you would be far better off to drink a daily glass of beetroot and celery juice, although herbs and spices are really healthy to use they certainly have health benefits, but personally I would not use them as medicine because I have seen too many disasters after some people have used too much of a good thing, even right at this very moment I have one staff member off sick because she cannot walk, she had athletes foot and thought of applying mashed up garlic cloves, put her feet into plastic bags and left the garlic to work overnight, she woke up 4 hours later with massive blisters all over her feet, part of the skin so burnt that they are bleeding. So just because it is a natural remedy doesnt mean its safe, you could be allergic or as in this case she used too much and on bare skin.
And your experience with cider vinegar just goes to show that its important to proceed with caution even when it comes to natural, healthy remedies.
All the best
Karen
